Ingredients:
2 cups water
1 can tomato sauce
1 yellow onion, diced
1 carrot, diced
2 Italian sausages
3 stalks of celery, diced
4 oz mushrooms, diced
a handful of some kind of pasta
Optional: red pepper flakes, olive oil, black pepper
Directions:
1. Put everything in a pot
2. Boil
3. Simmer for 30+ minutes, or until food is texture that you prefer
Note:
I didn't realize how much fennel my particular brand of sausage contained. I got rid of the majority of the fennel flavor by removing the sausage from the pot. The sausage flavor that was left was enough to flavor the soup. If, like me, you don't like sausage with too much fennel, you can chop the sausage into larger pieces to add flavor to the soup and then remove it at the end.
